God-enhanced Intuition

While we waited at the restaurant for our meals, our five-year old daughter drew our attention to an elderly woman sitting alone at a table nearby. Sarah begged us to let her go and invite the lady to come sit with us. After all, it was Easter. To the dismay of my proper-English grandma who didn't think we should intrude on the lady's privacy, we decided that she seemed harmless enough and said, "Yes."
"Shy" was not in Sarah's vocabulary. She immediately jumped down from her booster seat, walked over to the stranger and started to chat. The lady glanced up and smiled at us before Sarah took her by the hand and walked her back to our table.
Over dinner, we learned that the lady's husband had recently died, her daughter's home was far away, and she now lived on her own in an apartment. She was very lonely. I learned, that day, to trust our daughter's sensitivity to people and her discerning spirit. "And a little child shall lead them."
God created each of us with natural intuition that we so often ignore. As Christians, we have the Spirit of God living within us which tells me that our intuition is God-enhanced. Yet, so often we dismiss what the Spirit of God is urging us to do or say. Instead we continue to plead, "God, please show me how I can serve you." We ignore the promptings of the Holy Spirit - our God-enhanced intuition.
Bringing it home - What Holy Spirit nudge have you ignored recently? What is your God-enhanced intuition prompting you to do right now?
God bless you this week.
