Living your faith

When Carol was deciding whether or not to go back to school, she knew there was a lot to consider. As a single mom, her family needed the small wage she earned even though the job wasn't easy on her body. She also knew that school meant she'd have to stretch the brain cells and study hard, continue working at her labor intensive job, and be there for her children.

Before she made the decision, Carol wrestled with her options, gained input from trusted friends and prayed a lot for God's guidance. She knew she'd have to make sacrifices. But she also believed God was opening a door that would give her better employment opportunities and offer greater financial stability.

Was it easy once she made her decision? Not a chance.

Over the past year, she's had to dig deep when she felt too tired to get up. She's had to rely on God's energy when she put in a shift at work. She's had to trust God for His wisdom as she continued to fulfill her role as mom to her growing children. And she's had to study hard, late into the night, to achieve top marks at school.

Has she experienced anxious moments? Absolutely. Has she honored God? No doubt. But instead of choosing to live from a place of anxiety, she has chosen to live from a place of faith.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

Bringing it home - Are you living your life from a place of anxiety or a place of faith?

God bless you this week.
