As you know, we are facing a period of unprecedented uncertainty and disruption across the globe related to the COVID-19 health pandemic. Abbotsford and AbbyFree Church have not been spared from the realities of this situation. We ask for your patience and co-operation as we work our way through all of this.

The BC government has asked all gatherings of 250 or more to not happen. Though AbbyFree Church is well under that number the Elders felt that out of an abundance of caution and care for our community and church members we will not meet for corporate worship Sunday, March 15.

We will move forward on a week-to-week basis as this situation continues to unfold in the coming days and weeks.

The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear; and so our decision was made in an effort to be proactive. We feel that being a good neighbour at this time is to do all we can to minimize any potential exposure to the virus. We feel it is wise and prudent to join in the efforts of others in Abbotsford. Working together will bring the greatest help to our neighbours.

Our desire is to always show the love of Christ to our community, this is one of those times we can express our care.

We looked at trying to provide a live stream for Sunday, yet we do not have the infrastructure or technology to do that well.

So what do you do with your family on Sunday morning? I suppose you could sleep in. But I would strongly encourage you to take this opportunity and lead your family to worship God in his Word and in prayer and in singing together. You could even catch many of the churches that are providing streaming service online. The important thing is that you take time to worship with those around you.

Check-in regularly with abbyfree.com for updates, current information and resources for you to use Sunday morning and through the week.

Keep praying for each other.
